CFC Cause of the Week: Human Trafficking Prevention

THIS WEEK CFC RECOGNIZES

HUMAN TRAFFICKING PREVENTION

education

CFC-supported organizations are working to end human trafficking, which affects more than 20 million victims in the United States and around the world. This modern slavery may involve sexual exploitation, forced labor, or domestic servitude. Charities provide resources to help victims speak out, face their traffickers in court, rebuild their lives, as well tools to help recognize the signs of human trafficking and prevent it within communities.

Here’s how you can make an impact:

  • $53 provides a safe and secure place to stay overnight for women leaving domestic violence.
  • $85 supports a four-day summer camp for an at-risk young woman, helping her to gain self-confidence, acquire life skills, and learn to protect herself.
  • $100 provides one in-person mentoring session or technical assistance call for a new pro bono attorney handling a human trafficking case.

XIOMARA'S STORY

education

My cause is human trafficking, which is a deplorable crime. Humans should never be used as a commmodity or a profit-making source. The impact of CFC funding is a nationwide outreach that provides more awareness. The CFC is a good organization supporting fundraising for domestic and international non profits in various fields.
